I loved how you guys approached this trend report. My favourite is Analog. I've been seeing it everywhere both in my own life and in others' around me.
This is one of the coolest articles I've ever read. The "Lore" section really resonated, and it's interesting to think about how that juxtaposes with "Analog". People are so interested in the latest stories, tea, drama, and insider scoop (which they primarily receive online), but at the same time, are pulling away towards Analog to write in their physical journals or bricking their phones.
Excellent report! As a UK filmmaker (brands, pharma, doc) I'm recognising all of these trends, some more than others. Top one 'Lore' then in order, Improvisation, Analogue, Romance, Camp. I would also add one. People want to be 'less throwaway', that translates as they want higher quality, 'buy once not twice', unless it's supposed to look like it's shot on an iPhone they want higher production quality - if they are investing their time, they don't want it to be wasted.
I came from carmscrolls post - I thought this article pieced together the puzzles of trends that Iβve only started noticing. Immediate follow && canβt wait for more
Another improvisation well done I have seen is the Facebook Marketplace ad they did collaborating with Bridgeton. Participating in the current culture!! plus I found it fun!
Such a great read. The small scale events really resonated with me. It feels like people also want to go to events and participate in something rather than be just an observer.
I love the "lore" trend! That's something I'm planning to do more of with my urban fantasy short stories I'm writing here on Substack. Lore posts, and maybe stories where different pieces of information are also on my Instagram and YouTube, to combine them all together...

Thank you, Gary! Youβve definitely been ahead of the pack on the analog trend.
Utterly obsessed with camp and lore. Already seeing these play out IRL. I bet Superbowl will feed into a lot of this, too!
Weβre seeing a lot of camp/lore already, too! Canβt wait to see how you use those trends!

Lore and yearning for good stories, real experiences and life milestones really hit home. Digital overload is finally seeing it's impending doom.

Yesss! There's so much to unpack with lore. Let us know how it goes!
I loved the workbooks from previous years, will there be one for 2025 too?
